Maggie Jo Hipskind's Obituary
Maggie Jo Hipskind (nee Ramey) was born in Dallas on July 2, 1924.After graduation from high school, she and her best friend, Frances Tremaine, traveled to Seattle and joined in the war effort working at Boeing aircraft. There, she met and married the love of her life, Verne Hipskind.After the delivery of their first child (Jo Verlenne), they relocated to Dallas where Verne joined the Dallas police force. There they raised two other children (Christopher and Mark).Maggie is preceded in death by her husband, Verne K. Hipskind and son, Carl Christopher Hipskind. She is survived by her daughter, Verlenne Monroe and her husband, Gary White; son, Mark Hipskind; grandchildren, Rocky Monroe and his wife, Nikki, Kelli Moore and her husband, Randy, Josh Hipskind and wife, Loren and Johnathan Hipskind.Maggie Jo was an avid amateur bowler, winning numerous awards, plaques and in 1973 the Dallas Women’s Bowling Association Championship.Throughout her life she had a ready smile for everyone, always spoke kindly of anyone and everything. Her contagious and positive outlook was her most endearing trait.A role model for her children and grandchildren, she is deeply missed by family and friends alike.The family will receive friends on Friday, October 12, 2018, at Restland Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
