Major General Harold Joe Wages' Obituary
Born on March 12, 1927, in Muskogee, Oklahoma and passed away on Veterans Day, November 11, 2008, in Plano, TX. Major General Harold J. Wages began his military career by entering the Regular Army in June 1945, as a Private. Throughout his more than 42 years of service to the Army, he commanded troop units while serving in every grade through Major General. He retired from the United States Army Reserve in March, 1987. General Wages, a graduate of East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, with a Bachelors Degree in Business and the University of Tulsa where he earned a Juris Doctor. He was a successful corporate attorney for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of 64 years; 3 daughters, Teresa Kay and her husband Jim, Monica Wilson and her husband Skip, and Valerie Wilds; a sister, Marguerite McDonald; 2 granddaughters, Melinda King and her husband Jeff, and Shannon Kay; 1 great-grandson, Lane King. Service will be 3:30 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel with military rites to follow at the graveside.
