Mamie Bracken Morlan's Obituary
MAMIE EMMA BRACKEN MORLAN, matriarch of the Bracken family, went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2011 only two months short of her 100th birthday-1/1/12. The celebration will still be held. Two of her great passions were family and gambling, not always in that order. Her amazing mind never stopped working and she never stopped laughing. She will be greatly missed by all family, but we are forever blessed with the truly exceptional life. We will be laughing at her wit, quirks and nuances for many years to come. Mamie was born in Joplin, Texas to Daniel and Emma Zellner. She was married to Frank D. Bracken for 42 years and they raised three wonderful children. Frank preceded her in death in 1981. She later met and married Lyle Morlan in 1993; they enjoyed dancing, church, travel and time with the family. She was also preceded in death by her four sisters and brother. She leaves behind her children: Peggy Knight and husband, Jack, Frank D. Bracken, Jr. & wife, Janet, Gladys Ingram & husband, Mike-along with her special nephew, Jimmie Holland & wife, Wanda. She also leaves behind Carol Bracken; grandsons, Tracy Green, Frank and Brad Bracken, and Clay Ingram; granddaughters, Jennifer Santa Ana, Leslie Wenz and 10 great grandchildren. Donations are welcome in her memory at Faith Presbyterian Hospice, 4350 Sigma Road, Suite 400, Dallas, TX 75244.
