Manon Eudora Metcalf's Obituary
Manon Eudora Metcalf was born in Dallas, Texas on August 3, 1936 to Edward and Faye Gibbs. She is a graduate of W. H. Adamson High School. She and her husband, John Marvin Metcalf, celebrated 61 years of marriage on July 15, 2016. Manon was best known as a Mom who was always there to support her three children and one grandson. She participated in the PTA, church choir and Vacation Bible School. She was a member of Kessler Park Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Oak Cliff and a long-time member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church where she participated in the choir and the church ceramics program. She worked in the Attendance Office at Kimball High School for many years. Manon passed away on January 29, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Faye Gibbs and sister, Nancy Lynn Moyer. She is survived by her husband, John Metcalf, three children, Linda Lancto and husband Michael, Susan Richardson and husband Charles, and son, Scott Metcalf. She is also survived by her grandson, John Charles Richardson, her precious kitty Samantha, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors at Cliff Temple Baptist Church at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 4, 2017. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 am in the Basset Chapel of the Church. At 2:00 pm a service will be held at the Abby Mausoleum at Restland . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Music Ministry at Cliff Temple Baptist Church, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Humane society of your choice.
