Dr. Manuel “Nonoy” Abadam Magalindan, Sr., 70, of Dallas, TX, died August 1, 2018 in Dallas,TX.He is survived by his wife, Susan; sisters, Lori Montano (VA), Edith Tabones (NJ), Fely Green (NJ), Mely Cruz (WA), and Sylvia Mendoza (NJ); eight children, Manuel Jr, Mariano, Michelle, Zenaida, Macario, Elizabeth, Mikayla, Bernadette; and eight grandchildren, Justin, Marek, Ethan, Elyse, Camden, Jake, Siena, and Connor.He was born September 17, 1947 to Mariano and Conrada Magalindan in Infanta, Pangasinan, Philippines. He enjoyed tinkering with machines, building and fixing things. As a child, he wanted to become a mechanical engineer. Under his father’s influence, he went into Medicine.He graduated from Mathias H. Aznar College of Medicine in 1975 in Cebu City, Philippines. He practiced Anesthesiology before leaving the Philippines.He moved to the United States in 1985. He married Susan Dalindin on May 16, 1987 in New Jersey. He moved to Dallas, TX in 1990 and lived there with his family until he passed.He was a devout Catholic and raised his children to have strong faith in God. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in the Philippines. In the United States, he joined the prayer groups Couples for Christ and Tambuli.He worked as a laboratory technologist for most of his working career in the United States. Despite often working 2-3 jobs simultaneously, he supported his kids by chaperoning on field trips and driving them to school and encouraged them to do their best in their studies.He built many things that were used by the family, such as a bench for the table, a bunk bed for his kids, cabinets and shelves for storage around the house, and a basketball hoop and shed in the backyard. He loved fixing things himself.He was preceded in death by his parents Mariano and Conrada Magalindan; sisters Erlinda Mores and Zenaida Gamao; and his first wife Trinidad Monsalud Magalindan.His viewing is Friday, August 10, 2018 from 12:00pm – 8:30pm at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery.
