Manuel Esteban Montoro's Obituary
Montoro, Manuel Esteban, IV ~ Died peacefully at home on April 5th, 2011 surrounded by loving family. Born on December 26th, 1925 in Havana, Cuba to Manuel Enrique Montoro of Havana and Adelina Gonzalez Chavez of Matanzas, he is survived by his son, Manny Montoro and wife Sharon, adopted daughters Paula del Valle, Lola del Valle and Maria Eugenia del Valle Mas and husband Rafael, beloved grandchildren Manuel Christopher, Alana and Matthew Montoro, nephews and nieces Jorge Rodriguez and wife Rosa, Philippa Dodson and Morgan McCord, Robert Love, Gillian Dreesen, Gillian Russell and husband Lee, The William Love family, The Frank Love family and many other relatives and friends whose lives he touched. Manolo studied at the prestigious Baldor Academy in Havana, where he was Valedictorian and began his early career as a CPA. He loved music, playing piano, organ and percussion and enjoyed the nightlife in Havana at legendary and iconic clubs like the Tropicana and Sans Souci. After marriage to his beloved and beautiful Vera, a son was born. When the shadow of Communism fell on Cuba, Manolo immigrated to the United States and started life over in a new place, later becoming a citizen. He worked hard for his family and formed many close friendships. Manuel was always frugal with himself and generous with others. In later life, Manolo devoted himself to Vera, Manny and close family and was advisor to and accounting manager for both Lone Star Scuba locations. He will be most remembered for his charm, generosity, integrity to his values and for being a true Cuban gentleman. His gentle and loving spirit will be missed by all that knew him. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice and perform an act of kindness for someone else in Manolo’s memory. Special thanks go out from the Montoro family to the members of VITAS Hospice Care Team 3 in Fort Worth for their compassionate and dignified care of our beloved Papa.
