Manuel Uribe's Obituary
Manuel Uribe passed away on Saturday, December 9th at the age of eighty. He was born on November 28, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, and preceded in death by his parents John and Refugia (Menchaca) Uribe and his sister Mary Alice Uribe. He lived all his life in Dallas, Texas, and attended Crozier Tech High School, where he achieved the rank of Colonel in the R.O.T.C. Then went to Texas A&M and the University of Texas at Arlington and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He worked as an accountant for Dresser Industries, Northern Telecom and Sammons Communications. Prior to retirement he spent 14 years as a Tax Preparer for H&R Block to help his community, family, and friends. He was a committed father who enjoyed being active with his children and grandchildren. In the late 1970’s, he began coaching them in soccer and formed the Texxans Soccer Club.
He is survived by his children Victoria Ann Martinez, Rebecca Christina Longoria, husband Richard Longoria, and David Alexander Uribe, fiancée KayDean Pritchett; his six grandchildren Julian Martinez, wife Bianca, Damian Martinez, Lauren Martinez, husband James Geibler, Alexia, Nicholas and Sebastian Longoria and his bonus grandchildren; Miguel Romo and Julianna Sicilian; and his two great grandchildren Katalina Ava Martinez and Liliana Elisa Romo. His nephews Raymond and Robert Banda and his grandnephews and grandnieces; Tony, Katie, Lulu, Alice, Brandon, and Bella Banda, his God-daughter Patricia Gomez and Menchaca cousins in Phoenix, Arizona. Along with his lifelong best friend, Charles McKinney and his wife Rhonda.
Funeral Service and Internment will take place on Friday, December 15th at Calvary Hill Cemetery and Funeral Home North Chapel at 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220.
