Marcella Elizabeth Van Brunt's Obituary
VAN BRUNT, MARCELLA (SULLIVAN) of Plano, Texas was born May 7, 1916 in Auburn, Michigan. She died December 17, 2012 at the age of 96. Her husband, Frederick Gleichmann Van Brunt, originally from Moscow, Pennsylvania, died in 1986. She is the daughter of the late Thomas J. Sullivan and Beatrice Malecha Sullivan. Marcella attended Cooley High School in Detroit. She and her husband lived in Southfield, Michigan for many years and moved to Texas in 1978 to be near their children. She was a woman of strong convictions and determination. Her family was her pride and joy, and the center of her life. In her later years she was an active participant in the events at the Plano Senior Center. A bingo champ! She is already missed. Surviving are two sons: James Van Brunt and wife, Kathlyn (Stefantz), of Fairview Texas, John Van Brunt and wife, Susan (Movold) of Frisco, Texas; and a daughter, Marcia (Van Brunt) Macias of Allen, Texas; five grandchildren, Amy Van Brunt, Lyndsay Van Brunt, Jason Foor and wife, Michelle (Kesman), David Macias and wife, Janet (Herrera), and Lauren Macias; three great grandchildren, Janelle Macias, Vanessa Macias and Emerson Foor; Marcella’s sister, Monica Sullivan Knapp, age 101, is presently living in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Marcella was preceded in death by her brother, Dallas Sullivan who lived in Hershey, Michigan; nephew, Thomas Knapp (Florida); and her son-in-law, Samuel Macias. Private Services for Family are pending.
