Margaret Minton Durning's Obituary
Born February 1, 1919 in Melissa, TX; went to be with the Lord December 23, 2008. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents John and Lillian Minton; husbands, Lou Bleaker and Troy Harris; brothers, Johnnie, George, Carl, Clyde and W B (Heavy) Minton; sisters, Lucile Dupre and Mary Belle Minton; and her great-grandson Larry Thomas Hightower. She is survived her husband, William Durning of El Cajon, CA; brothers, Don Minton and wife Betty of Mansfield, TX, Albert (Smitty) Minton and wife Dorothy of Plano, TX; sister, Jacqueline Walker and husband Jack of Hurst, TX; daughter, Norma Nichols and husband Larry of Candler, NC; sons, Dudley Harris and wife Marion of Richmond, ID, and Robert Harris of Crandall, TX; step-children, Perry Durning and his wife of El Cajon, CA, Suzanne Fitzpatrick and husband of San Diego, CA, Nancy Bentz and husband of El Cajon, CA, Charles Durning and wife of Magee, MS, and Jerry Durning of CA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Nichols and wife Cary of Candler, NC, Theresa Hightower and husband Darren of Frisco, TX, Benjamin Harris and wife Laura of San Antonio, TX, Zachary Harris and wife Sara of Garland, TX, Katy Harris of Minneapolis, MN, Ashley Harris of Mesquite, TX, Amanda Pereira and husband Berto of Mesquite, TX; and great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Millett and Cordell Nichols of Candler, NC, James Hightower and Josie of Odessa, TX, Will Hightower serving in the US Navy – USS Enterprise, Courtney and Natalie Hightower, Thomas, Charlie, Claire and Andersen Harris of San Antonio, TX, Brandon Harris of Garland, TX, Robert Troy Harris of Mesquite, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm, Monday, December 29, 2008 at Restland’s Memorial Chapel, with visitation prior to the service, at 2:00 pm.
