Margaret Louise Ellsberry's Obituary
Ellsberry, Margaret Hastings was born August 13, 1929 in Wolfe City, Texas to John and Nell Brignon and passed away on February 15, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary (Joe) Carder of Bonham, Texas; husbands, Gene Garrett, H.C. “Bob” Hastings and Samuel Ellsberry. Margaret is survived by her sons, Dennis Garrett (Janis) and Kevin Hastings (Jorge Baldor); daughter, Kathy Garrett; grandchildren, Stephanie Platz, Tiffany Feagin, Patrick Garrett (Jessica), Kelly Garrett (Maureen); five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by special friends Dennis Houser, Sue Fredrick, Linda Ainsworth, David Curry and Keana Low, along with numerous other close friends and family. After an extended illness Margaret passed away peacefully surrounded by those she loved and loved her. Her strong spirit was an inspiration to those near her. Special thanks to friends and caregivers, Debbie Kleek and Pat Smith for the compassion and love shown to Margaret. She enjoyed church activities, ballroom dancing and social gatherings with her many friends. Margaret was well known for her special deviled eggs and sweet potato recipes which were favorites particularly at holidays. She was also an avid Cowboy fan, enjoyed soap operas, bike riding and swimming and always sent greeting cards for any special event. Margaret was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be officiated by Brother Eddy Ketchersid of the Farmers Branch Church of Christ at Restland Memorial Park on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 3:30 PM.
