Margaret May Grann's Obituary
Margaret May Lucas Grann, born August 28, 1921 in Austin, TX and passed away March 6, 2009 in Arlington, TX. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. Grann; her daughter, Cheryl Hickman, and her brother, Harvie Lucas. She is survived by her son, Henry Robert Gann II and his wife, Janice of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Megan, Caitlin and Robert Patrick Grann, Gregory Hickman and his wife Chantal; Gregory’s mother Suzanne Hickman and his sisters, Lindsay Williams and husband Josh, Elyse Hickman, Margaret’s sisters-in-law, Jo Lucas, Mary Grann and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Margaret graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas and served during World War II as a United Stated Navy WAVE. She married Henry R. Grann on July 28, 1949 in Dallas. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Psychology from Southern Methodist University. She was a special education and elementary school teacher in the Richardson school district for over 20 years. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will 12:00 PM, Monday, March 9, 2009 at Restland Abbey Chapel with Reverend Art Toombs officiating. Interment and military honors to follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10305 or the charity of your choice.
