Margaret Joyce Hollingsworth's Obituary
Margaret Joyce Dodson Hollingsworth of Dallas, TX went home to be with The Lord on March 10, 2026. All who knew her loved her, and she will be remembered for her generous spirit and strong Christian faith.
Margaret was born in Dallas to Max and Helane Dodson and leaves behind three sisters, Catherine Edwards, Laurel Glenn, and Pansy Flick. Margaret found great joy in her relationships with her sisters and family.
In her young professional career, Margaret was a school teacher, a role she often said she felt made for. At age 50 she took her love of education a step further and earned a master’s degree in social work, a job she found challenging but very rewarding, and she gave it her all until she retired.
Margaret valued the community of believers in her local churches, and was a member of several throughout her life, including Town North Baptist Church in Dallas, Trinity Bible Fellowship in Richardson, Grace Church in Richardson, Dallas Bible Fellowship and most recently Trinity Presbyterian Church in Flower Mound. She made lifelong friends and eternal connections at each of these church communities. She is no doubt reuniting with many of these friends now.
Undoubtedly, the greatest joys of Margaret’s life were her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind her daughter, Allison Hollingsworth and spoiled grand-dog Louise; her son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Renee Hollingsworth; her granddaughter and family, Jacqueline and Arthur Johnson and great-granddaughter, Quinn; her grandson, Kevin Hollingsworth; and grandson and family, Brenden and Alyssa Hollingsworth, with great-grandbaby number two arriving in September. She provided her children and grandchildren with many meaningful and happy memories during her life, for which her family is eternally grateful.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Hollingsworth. We all rejoice that they are now together once again.
Services will be held March 20 at Restland, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX, 75243 in the Wildwood Chapel (map attached). The service begins at 2:00pm with an optional graveside prayer afterward. Starting at 5:00pm, we will be hosting dinner on behalf of Margaret at her favorite restaurant, Desperados (3443 W Campbell Rd, Garland, TX 75044).
