Margaret Klinko Jones' Obituary
Jones, Margaret KlinkoMargaret died August 15, 2018 at the age of 90. She was born in Thorpe, W. VA, a small coal mining town, on October 14, 1927, of immigrant parents from Slovakia. She graduated from Gary High School in Gary, W. VA where she played the French horn in the school band. After graduation in 1946 she moved to Dallas, Texas where she graduated from Draughon’s Business College. She worked for Westinghouse, until she had her only child, Carolyn, in 1956. In 1973 she went to work for Republic National Bank in downtown Dallas, where she worked in the lending department retiring after 19 years.In 1953 she met and married John Thomas Jones; they were married for 51 years until his death in June 2004.In the mid 1950’s Margaret became a German Shepherd breeder, owning Brookhollow Kennels, where she sold her beautiful puppies nationally; several of which became champions. She loved all animals, especially dogs, horses and birds. She didn’t care for cats much, but fed the strays anyway “so they won’t eat my birds!”.Margaret was a wonderful mother, wife, sister and aunt. She worked tirelessly to do everything for her family, never thinking about herself. In 1994 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and was proud to be a survivor. During her treatment she continued to walk her 2 miles daily and never complained once. Margaret was always very organized and her house was always perfect. She loved classical music, musicals and dance.Margaret is predeceased by her parents, John and Frances Klinko, sisters, Helen and Mary, brother, Edward, and nephew John. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn and husband Stephen; threenephews and their wives, Mark and Kay, David and Sara and Larry. Two nieces Frances and husband Ronnie, and Beckie and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins which she dearly loved.A special thank you to Rachel, Yulanda, Seth, Jamie, Shantina, Darnall and all of the staff at Bradfield Place – “Sunshine” loved you all. Also, a very special thank you to Aqua with Holding Hands Hospice and nurses Sheila and Jayne; your care and concern will never be forgotten. We would also like to thank Onita for her special care to Mom and our family while she was in the hospital.Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home Monday, August 20, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. John Libone at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Ave., Dallas, TX 75214, at 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 21. Interment will be at Restland Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
