Margaret Ione Murphy's Obituary
Murphy, Margaret Ione was born on September 17, 1920 in Greenville to Claxton Eugene Smith and Ethel Phelps Smith. She graduated from North Dallas High School in 1937. She worked for Mobil Oil and later as a substitute teacher for the Dallas ISD. She loved to play bridge and she attended several book clubs. A devoted and longtime member of First Baptist Church of Dallas since childhood and a member of the Bethany Sunday School Class for over 60 years. Margaret is survived by her sons Joseph G. Murphy ( Denise) and Edgar J. Murphy, III; daughter Marcia Paschall (Michael S. Paschall); grandchildren Shannon and Brianna Murphy of Conway, AR., Scott Murphy Pashcall (Amber) and Matthew J. Paschall. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edgar J. Murphy, Jr. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the wonderful care provided by Hospice Plus. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church library or building fund.
