Margaret Jane "Peggy" Jones' Obituary
Margaret Jane “Peggy” Maplesden Jones of Richardson, Texas passed peacefully away Sunday, January 20, 2019, at the young age of 94. Peggy was born May 16, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1941 and then from the University of Minnesota in 1945 where she was editor of “The Gopher”, the annual college yearbook. Peggy met and married William Jesse “Bill” Jones in 1946. Peggy and Bill had three daughters: Randall Gwenyth Jones Lotridge, Kevyn Colleen Jones Robertson, and Hillary Allison Jones Hansen. Bill, “Randy”, and Hillary preceded Peggy in death, as well as grandson-in-law Steven Beaulieu, her parents, Robert and Edith Maplesden, and her sister, Nancy Perryman.Peggy was the managing editor for the Business Girl magazine in Dallas. She also worked as an editor for Reserve Life and for many years was employed by The Horchow Collection. She primarily focused her life and energies on her beloved husband, their three daughters, and their pursuits and families.Peggy remained an Active Member of the Richardson Women’s Club until her death. She was a longtime supporter of the Richardson Symphony, the Friends of the Richardson Public Library, the Richardson Republican Women’s Club, the Highland Terrace Neighborhood Association, McKinney Summer Musicals, and the barbershop quartet, the Forty Acre Four.Peggy is survived by her daughter, Kevyn Robertson; son-in-law Rick Robertson; son-in-law Robert Lotridge; grandchildren Jessica Lotridge Beaulieu; Lindsay Kelso and husband Brice; Travis Robertson and wife Tara; Hayley Heckman and husband Matthew; Lance Hansen and wife Rachel; great grandchildren Parker and Beau Kelso; Kate and Emma Robertson; Evelyn Heckman; and Hallie Hansen; brother-in-law Wyn Jones and wife Jane; sister-in-law Marian Jones; niece Zoe Perryman; and numerous other nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.A memorial service will be held for Peggy on Saturday, February 2, at 2:30 pm at Restland Cemetery’s Memorial Chapel with a reception following.The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of VITAS for their loving care of Peggy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Peggy’s name be made to VITAS Healthcare, 14651 N. Dallas Pkwy, Suite 812, Dallas, TX 75254.
