Margaret Ann Peltier's Obituary
Margaret Ann Peltier, who loved to be called “Mom, Grandma, Grandmother and Miss Margaret” by her family and friends, peacefully passed on Sunday afternoon at home surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born on June 26, 1936, in Howland, Texas of Lamar County. She was the daughter of Walter LaFayette Cooper and Alma Margaret Gatlin.
Margaret was an adoring and loving wife to Robert Emmet Peltier known as Bob who passed in 1994, mother to James Mark Peltier, Brenda Lynn Peltier and Robert Dale Peltier, Grandmother to James Garrett Peltier, and Great Grandmother to Bryson Mark Peltier and Jacek Riley Bogle. She raised her children with unconditional love and devotion in Richardson, Texas. She was strong, compassionate and was involved with every aspect of her children’s lives. She handled the difficult times with grace and embraced the challenges of raising her children with unconditional and everlasting love.
Margaret grew up in Howland, TX a small country town and graduated from high school in Roxton, TX. She was the first born of 5 brothers and sisters and as the oldest child, she began taking care of her family from a very early age that evolved into her lifelong passion of taking take good care of family and cooking. She moved to Dallas soon after high school and was working when she met the love of her life at It’ll Do dance club which is still open and is considered a unique part of Dallas history. They both loved to dance, then married 10 months later and would dance together forever. They are dancing in Kingdom of Heaven today.
She was passionate and devoted to her one and only house she made into a beautiful home for all her family, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her extended family and so many friends with an open-door philosophy welcoming them with loving arms open wide and to never say no to anyone that needed her help. She loved the outdoors and gardening that added to the beauty and charm of her home.
She loved to laugh and will forever be remembered by her unforgettable smile. She was kind, compassionate, understanding, caring and reassuring but most of all it was her profound love and devotion to anyone blessed to be part of her life.
Margaret is survived by her three children, James Mark Peltier and his family, Brenda Lynn Peltier, Robert Dale Peltier, her grandson James Garrett Peltier and his family and her loving sister Martha Fay Duke.

Services will be held at Restland Funeral Home at the Wildwood Chapel in Dallas, TX on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, at 10:00am, and please feel welcome to attend the visitation beginning at 9:00am.
