Margaret Ann Pesek's Obituary
Margaret Ann Pesek, loving, kind, generous and faithful, passed away on March 28, 2017. Margaret was born November 20, 1925 in Wichita Falls, Texas, graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas and then graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1947 with a degree in Business. Upon graduation, she returned to Dallas and began work as an administrative assistant and secretary for the late H.L. Hunt. Margaret married Edwin Pesek to whom she was married for 63 years until his death in 2013. Margaret was incredibly bright, positive, funny, and a joy and inspiration to all her family and friends. She was active in her church and community and a volunteer, and served as an early President of the St. Anne’s Society at Christ the King Church in Dallas, later active at her church and children’s schools in Midland Texas, then in the Golden Saints at All Saints Church in Dallas in the later years in life. Margaret was always the model and loving wife, mother and friend. Following her husband’s wok relocations, Margaret also continued her work, and served as the assistant to the State Bar President, then to the President and Chairman of the Bank of Louisiana in New Orleans, and then as Secretary to the Board of Commissioners of the Louisiana Superdome. Margaret met and was admired and respected by some of the most interesting people in business and was a mentor to women in the workplace throughout her career. Margaret loved cooking, travel, bridge, entertaining, reading and most importantly, time with her family and her lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin J. Pesek, a daughter, Carol Frey and husband, Robert Frey; a son, Paul E. Pesek; and grandchildren Brian Lowes, Paul E. Pesek, Jr.; and Laura C. Pesek; and by nieces and nephews. A private memorial service and burial was held for Margaret, with Monsignor John F. Meyers, Presiding. Funeral service was held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, 30, 2017 at The Abbey Chapel of Restland Funeral Home. Visitation was 1 hour prior to the service from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Abbey Chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
