Margaret Ann Taylor's Obituary
Margaret Ann (Ann) Richards Taylor, 95, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 at her home. Ann was born May 1, 1927 in Fort Worth, Texas to Robert D. and Sarah N. Richards. Ann was a graduate of Texas Christian University and she later earned a master’s degree. She married Francis Gordon (Chuck) Taylor in 1950 in Arlington, Virginia and they later moved to Dallas, Texas. Ann was an elementary school teacher in the Dallas Independent School District for many years and finished her career in the DISD administration. She was an accomplished author having written short stories for publication in magazines and a book. In fact, she won her family a home when she submitted an essay on why she would want an all-electric home. She was a life-long learner, loved ballroom dancing, playing bridge, traveling, sewing and being with her family and many friends. She had a dry sense of humor and was a great storyteller. Ann was a life-long Christian, having attended Rosemont Christian as an adult. She and Chuck retired to Hideway Lake, Texas, where they entertained family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, John Robert Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Ann Ainley (Mike), her daughter-in-law, Janie Taylor, four grandchildren: Eric Taylor (Brooke), Angela Weeks (Nick), Brian Ainley (Hollie) and Sarah Nicholson (Sam) and 10 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held October 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas 75243. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Association or the Bright Focus Foundation.
