Margaret Foree Wiltshire's Obituary
WILTSHIRE, MARGARET FOREE CRUMLEY Daughter of two pioneer Dallas families, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Sunday evening July 13, 2008. The youngest and last of four children who all grew up to be extraordinary adults, she was born on June 15, 1908 in Dallas, Texas to State District Judge Kenneth Foree and civic and church leader, Edna Fisher Foree. She had just completed her own centennial turning 100 on June 15th. After graduating in the first four-year class of North Dallas High School, she attended the University of Arkansas where she was initiated into Chi Omega. Upon receiving a B.S. degree from SMU in 1931, she taught in Groesbeck High School and years later in the D.I.S.D. elementary schools. She taught Sunday School at Highland Baptist Church for 25 years. She served as president of Chi Omega Alumnae of Dallas, Panhellenic of Dallas, The Shakespeare Followers, The C.P.A. Wives of Dallas and the Lakeside Browning Club. She served on the Board of Governors of the Dallas Woman’s Club, and as a member of the Marianne Scruggs Garden Club, the Mary K. Craig class, the Texas Huguenot Society, and the Park Cities Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward W. Crumley, Jr., after 29 years of marriage, and second husband, John P. Wiltshire, after 33 years. She is survived by her sons, Edward W. Crumley, III and wife, Susan of Dallas, and Kenneth F. Crumley, M.D. of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two stepsons, John W. Wiltshire and Frank Wiltshire and wife Karen, all of Dallas; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 9:30 AM, Thursday, July 17, 2008 with memorial service at 10:00 AM at Restland Wildwood Chapel in Restland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Park Cities Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
