Margery Elizabeth Lovett's Obituary
LOVETT, MARGERY ELIZABETH beloved sister and treasured aunt, Elizabeth was the first born daughter of Katherine Ada Perdue and James Llewellyn Lovett. Born in Texarkana, TX on June 25, 1922, she was a graduate of Texarkana High School and the Texarkana Business College. She was employed by Texas Power & Light for 40 years. She and her family were long time members of Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Elizabeth loved her family beyond measure and from the very beginning of her life was a caregiver, devoting herself to the task of caring for her 3 younger sisters, Katherine, Durelle and Feriba, and in later years, along with sister Katherine, they were both caregivers to their parents until their passing. Elizabeth and Katherine lived in Highland Park together for over 50 years and built a new home on the site of their previous home in 1991, where they lived until they passed. Never was there a more devoted sister, aunt and friend than Elizabeth. Throughout her life she always put everyone else’s needs before hers, making sure they were safe, warm and fed and not wanting for anything. Elizabeth loved flowers, bluebonnets and roses especially. She collected porcelain and figurines from vacations and travels to Europe with her sisters Katherine and Feriba. She doted on her nieces and nephew throughout her life always finding little trinkets and collectibles for them in her travels. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Katherine Ada and James Llewellyn Lovett; sister, Durelle Leigh Rockwell and husband, Raymond; sister, Emma Katherine Lovett; half-sister, Juanita (Tiny) Larson and husband, Bill, as well as half-sister, Ruth (Ruthie) Booker and husband, Tom. Elizabeth was so blessed and thankful to have had you in her life. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to all of you. With your special care, Elizabeth was able to remain in her home, comfortable and cared for until her passing. It is with heartfelt gratitude we thank you for your tender care and devoted attention to Elizabeth. She knew you loved her and she loved all of you too. Service will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Restland Memorial Chapel.
