Margie Marie Chambers' Obituary
Margie Marie (Hansen) Chambers, age 102, passed in her home of 54 years on September 9, 2020 of natural causes.
Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas on Thursday, October 8th from 4 to 6pm. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9th in Memorial Chapel, burial to follow in The Garden of Devotion. http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/38357
Margie was born in Dallas, Texas on July 30, 1918 to William Werner Hansen and Roberta Gertrude Edwards. Over her lifetime she lived in Dallas, Austin TX, Waco TX, Fort Worth TX, Albuquerque NM, and finally Richardson TX.
Margie met her husband, Robert (Bobby) Chambers when both were working for the Majestic Interstate Theater in Downtown Dallas. Of this union they were blessed to with two sons, Reed Hansen Chambers and Robert Bradley Chambers.
The family moved around for work over the years settling back in Dallas around 1966 in Richardson Texas. For the next several years Margie worked as a manager of several movie theaters in the area, including the Highland Park Theater. She was also a receptionist for a local State Farm Insurance Company and in retail sales until she retired.
Surviving are her are 3 nieces: Vicki Tharp Goldman of Houston, Anita Louise Tharp of Katy, and Jan Hansen of Longview. Also, great nieces and nephews; Shannon Goldman Carr, Lance Goldman, Kevin Goldman, Ken Gwynne, Meredith Tharp Ray, Monica Tharp Waggoner, Megan Tharp Hall, Greg Miller, and Courtney Miller Denny.
Margie is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, children, Reed Hansen Chambers, and Robert Bradley Chambers, sisters Dorothy Tharp Morten, Annamae Handlin, brother Walter Warner Hansen, nephew Michael Franklin Tharp, niece Sandy Miller Hansen, and great nephew Chief Warrant Officer 3 Michael Forrest Tharp US Army.
Pallbearers: Lance Goldman, Kevin Goldman, Steven Goldman, Ken Gwynne, Monte Edwards, and Casey Edwards.
