Margie E. Langford's Obituary
On Saturday, April 20, 2024, Margie E. Langford passed away at the age of 73. Born on September 10, 1950, to Archie P. Echols and June Hill Walker, she wed Billy Earl Langford on October 10, 1970, and the two enjoyed a 53-year marriage.
Margie loved watching “I Love Lucy,” old westerns, and game and cooking shows. She was a perfectionist and wanted everyone to do their best, or she would tell you how. She was always a caretaker and ensured people and important businesses were cared for. She embodied the essence of a "momma bear," fiercely defending and guarding those dear to her.
Margie worked as a commercial client banker with J.P. Morgan Chase for numerous years before retiring, giving her more time to care for and support her grandchildren. She loved spending time with family and friends and making memories on vacations in the RV.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, June and Archie, son-in-law Tracy Gaines, brother and sister-in-law Bobby, and Martha Langford.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Billy; two daughters, Amanda Langford and Amy Gaines; son-in-law, Khaled Abdo; her sister and brother-in-law, Kathie and Ronnie Conway; and her niece, Angela Fowler; as well as her brothers-in-law Carl Ray and spouse Dale Langford, David Earl and spouse Denise Langford and sister-in-law Cathy Jo and spouse James Sharp and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Margie also leaves many great lifelong friends, including her precious Great Pyrenes, Duke.
