Martinez, Margie Lee McNeil “I Hope you Dance” It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Margie Lee McNeil Martinez on December 24, 2012. A golden heart stopped breathing today. She has always been the wind beneath our wings. Her husband, Roy, will forever be her love. Margie was born September 17, 1931 in Clyde, TX to the late Levi and Ima Crawford. Margie was matriarch of her family. Her job as special education teacher at Garland ISD was one of the greatest joys of her life. She invested her heart and soul to the students. She loved everyone and wanted to save the world. She and Roy loved to dance at the VFW Post 6796, where she was a lifetime member. She will forever be missed and loved by family and friends.Margie is survived by her husband, Roy; her daughters Patricia Rhodes and husband Ralph; Debbie Hartis and husband David; her son, Stephen McNeil and wife Doris; three brothers; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6pm to 8pm, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be 11am, Friday, December 28, 2012 at Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VFW Post 6796 in memory of Margie.
