Margie Ree Northum's Obituary
Margie Ree Northum, 91, of Grand Prairie, Texas went to be with her Lord on January 15,2026.
Margie was born Margie Ree Sims on June 30,1934, In Emory, Texas to Sarah Ann Sims and Willie Frank Dial. On January 17, 1948, she married the love of her life, James Walter Northum of Lindale, Texas. Affectionately known as " the Boss" by her husband, Margie ruled her home with love, laughter, and a steady guiding hand.
Margie was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She left a lasting impression on anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Known of infectious laughter and loving spirit. Margie had a way of brightening every room she entered.
She dedicated her life to family and to the simple joys she loved most: tending to her pecan trees, caring for her cats, cooking for those she loved. enjoying a good cup of coffee, engaging in long conversations, and keeping a beautiful manicured yard that reflected her pride and care.
Margie is survived by her daughter and three sons: Deborah Ann White (spouse, Robert Russell White Jr) of Houston, Texas; James Walter Northum II (spouse, Donna Sue Northum) of Ovilla, Texas; Clyde Walter Northum (spouse, Brenda Mae Northum) of Midlothian; Texas and David Allen Northum of Grand Prairie, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren Stacey Ann White, Sarah Michelle Rees, Jared Wayne Northum and Jennifer Anne Terrell; her great- grandchildren including Russell Boyd Rees, James Douglas Rees, William Walter Rees and Gunner James Terrell.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Walter Northum on February 16.1988, and her daughter- in - law, Norma Lynn Northum (spouse of David Allen Northum), on May 24, 2010, Mother Sarah Ann Sims on June 7,1937, and Father Willie Frank Dial on October 12,1945. As well as half-sisters Thelma Ludene Dial Warren on February 1, 1995, and Bertha Mae Dial Deerman on September 22, 2013.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Vitas Health Care for their compassionate care and kindness shown to Margie during the final month of her life.
A visitation will be held at Wildwood Chapel at 9:30 a.m. on January 30, 2026. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m., with a graveside service afterward.
