Margie J. Semke's Obituary
Margie Jane Loveless Semke of Richardson, Texas departed this world on Easter Sunday,
March 31, 2024, to join the Heavenly celebration of our Lord’s resurrection. Born January 22,
1925, to Grace Marie Messner Loveless and Sydney George Loveless, Margie will be dearly
missed by all who knew her.
Margie married the love of her life, Charles R. “Charlie” Semke, on March 13, 1948, in Tulsa,
Oklahoma, and two children were born from this union. They moved to Richardson, Texas in
1969, and she joined First Presbyterian Church of Richardson. She loved volunteering, always
enjoying helping others and praising the Lord. Margie served in various church groups for many
years until her health prevented her participation.
Margie and Charlie were both scout leaders for their children’s troops, and they enjoyed
camping as a family and spending time outdoors. In their retirement years, they loved to travel,
exploring numerous locations in the United States. Margie was an incredibly talented
seamstress, needle crafter, quilter, painter, and more. She was a master of anything and
everything artistic. She was also an avid angel collector and loved her plants, flowers and birds.
And, she was a fantastic cook, but nobody could make a chocolate meringue pie like her!
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie Semke, her son Gary
Semke, her identical twin sister Mary Lou Burkitt, and her brother Richard Loveless. She leaves
to cherish her loving memory her daughter Janie Semke, daughter-in-law Sherri Semke;
grandchildren Holli Morris (husband Michael), Josh Semke, and Kaylin Semke; greatgrandchild
Mason Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
