Margie B. Stewart's Obituary
Born April 23, 1924 and passed away Sept. 15, 2015 at her home. She was 91 years young. A member of Lakeside Baptist Church for over 65 years. Served as Mother Advisor of Edwin J. Kiest Rainbow for girls. She was also a Past Worthy Matron of Edwin J. Kiest Chapter #959 Order of the Eastern Star. Margie’s Pallbearers will be members of Edwin J. Kiest Masonic Lodge #1310 AF & AM. Margie also belonged to the Hardy Listeners Book Review Club. She was a breast cancer survivor of over 20 years and gave back to others with breast cancer by making cancer pillows and by volunteering her services to Baylor Cvetko Cancer Center. Ms. Stewart retired from US Dept. of Agriculture – ASCS after 32 years in 1986. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother & grandmother, who loved her Lord, her family, her friends & her community. She served them all faithfully during her lifetime. She was always ready to reach out with a compassionate, helping hand to those who needed her tender loving help and prayers. Proceeded in death by her father, Judson; mother, Gladys; sisters, Betty Jo, Ruby, Grace & Pauline, and most recently by her beloved son-in-law of 48 years, David E. Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Smith; granddaughters, Sheila Smith Herrero and husband Carlos Herrero, and Sheryl Smith White. Her great grandchildren she loved deeply, Tim James, and twins Andrew White and Abigail White. Three brothers, J.T. Blunt, Bill Blunt, and Luke Blunt. Only two sisters survive her, Donnie Embrey and Judy Pollan. She has 17 nieces and nephews, and many more great nieces & nephews. A special loving thanks to all her friends, she loved you and also, the love of her life, Charles A. Stewart. Services will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 at 12:00 PM in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. The family welcomes you to a short visitation at 11:30AM prior to the service. Donations may be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Crippled Children, or the breast cancer institute of your choice.
