Margo C. Askins' Obituary
Margo Cook Askins of Mesquite, Texas was born on January 14, 1953. She passed from this life on July 18, 2016 after an 11 year battle with cancer, at age 63. Margo/Mom/Nana had a crazy love for her family, for her husband and children, and for life. She was born in Dallas, Texas to G.O. and Alice Cook, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Gerald Dean Askins of Mesquite, Texas and two children, Stephanie Askins Hyland and husband Samuel of Heartland, Texas and Brent Wayne Askins and wife Wendy of Rowlett, Texas. She also leaves behind five adored grandchildren: Jack, Scott, Tabitha, Kaitlyn, and Joshua. She is survived by sister Diane Gilliland of Irving, Texas, brother Jim Cook of Dallas, Texas, and sister Marie Graham of Mesquite, Texas. Margo was preceded in death by brother Ronnie Cook and sister Wanda Weaver, both of Stockton, California, and brother Calvin Cook of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by many other close family and friends, who surrounded her in life always. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 12:00PM at Mesquite Church of Christ, Mesquite, TX. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
