Margret Louise Ward's Obituary
Margret L. Ward, 74, transitioned April 28, 2021. She was born November 26, 1946, to John D. Parks and Lorine Parks (deceased) in Fayetteville, Tennessee. She graduated from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee, majoring is Social Sciences receiving her undergraduate bachelor’s degree. She went on to obtain her advanced master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in Nashville, Tennessee.
She met her husband, William Ward (Bill), in college and they had one child, Shana Ward Murphy and one grandson, Maxwell Jerome Murphy. Margret is the second of six children, with three sisters, Beatrice Burns, Connie Parks-Paige, Valerie Parks, and two brothers, William Parks (deceased) and Alton Parks.
Margret worked in the mental health profession as a licensed therapist with Diversity Counseling Services providing services in the following Specialties: Personal, Couple and Family Therapy, Physical and Sexual Abuse, EAP Relationship Skills, Anxiety and Depression, African American Cultural Issues, CISD.
Margret was the matriarch of the family who loved cooking the large family holiday meals with so many dishes you could not get all of them on one plate. She loved watching cooking and home design shows and touring new show homes. Margret valued her family, friends and members of Greenville Church of Christ.
