Marguerite Evelyn Lang's Obituary
Marguerite Evelyn Teafatiller Lang passed away peacefully at home Monday, December 14th, 1925 in Kemp, TX. Her family moved to Dallas when she was seven years old. She graduated from Forest Avenue High School with the class of 1942. It was there that she met and fell in love with her husband of 67 years, Glenn Lang, Jr. They were married December 24th, 1943 and settled in Dallas where they lived ever since and raised two children. Marguerite was the administrative assistant for twenty-two years to Avery Mason, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, after his passing was administrative assistant to Bishop A. Donald Davies. In post retirement, Marguerite enjoyed many years of gardening, theatre and traveling worldwide. She was an avid sports fan for her beloved Cowboys, Mavericks and Rangers, keeping up with all the players and not missing watching or listening to the games. The sports page was the first thing she read in the mornings with her coffee. She had great love for animals of all kinds and was a loving supporter of the Dallas SPCA and numerous other charities. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and loved being close to her family. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Lang, Jr., two children, Reginald (Reggie) Lang of Spring, TX and Kimberly (Kim) Mitchell of Dallas, TX, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Teafatiller of Dallas. Marguerite’s family wishes to express their love and gratitude to her doctors, nurses, Brother Dan, and the Hospice staff who cared so lovingly for her during her illness. A celebration of life will be Monday, December 21st at 12:30PM at Restland Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel with Senior Minister Dan Carroll presiding. In lieu of flowers memorials/donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Dallas SPCA, or a donation of your choice.
