Marguerite Santry's Obituary
SANTRY, MARGUERITE STURDIVANT 95, left to be with the Lord Jesus on February 26, 2014. Born in 1918, she lived in Dallas all of her life. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School as valedictorian in 1936, she attended SMU receiving both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. In 1945 she married I.W. (Izzy) Santry, Jr. and became a lifelong housewife and mother. One of her greatest passions in life was traveling and she was blessed to visit Europe many times with Izzy in their retirement years. She was particularly fond of London and its Ritz Hotel, where they graciously made sure she was never without their bread and butter pudding. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and her husband of 52 years. She is survived by son I.W. Santry III and wife Jean, daughter Susan and husband Jerry, son Michael and wife Sally, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Marguerite was a member of Northridge Presbyterian Church for 64 years where she developed many dear friends. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
