Mari Cristina Hawkins' Obituary
Mari Cristina Hawkins, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 64.
Mari was born on August 29, 1960, in Abilene, Texas, and spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Lompoc, California. She graduated from Lompoc High School in 1979 and went on to earn a certification in Early Childhood Development from Allan Hancock College.
After living in North Carolina for a time, Mari made Dallas her home in 1993. That same year, she began working at Autumn Leaves, where she remained a faithful and dedicated employee for over 30 years, until her health no longer allowed her to continue in April 2025.
In 1997, Mari met the love of her life, Steve Hawkins. The two were married in October 2001 and shared a deep, loving bond.
Mari will be remembered for her sweet spirit, radiant smile, and the warmth she brought to every room. She was deeply loved and will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Fred Probst, in 2020 and her mother, Sherrilynne Probst, in 2021. Mari is survived by her devoted husband, Steve; her father and stepmother, Earl and Linda Coombs; her siblings, Joseph Coombs, Patrick Coombs, Leah Probst, Bradley Coombs, and Nathan Coombs; her nieces, Elizabeth and Sarah Coombs; her nephew, Chance Medders; and a host of extended family.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on August 1, 2025 in Restland Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.
