Maria ‘Hope’ Esperanza Maciel, age 81, passed away at 7:30 PM on Thursday afternoon, June 14, 2018 in Plano, Texas. Maria was born on Monday, April 19, 1937, to her parents Benjamin Ayala and Angelina Hernandez in Dallas, Texas.She was married to Raymond ‘Ray’ Maciel on June 13, 1957 in Dallas, Texas. Maria was a homemaker and caregiver for over 60 years. She was survived by sisters: Rosa, Grace, and Lucy; Brothers: Julian, Vincent, David, Albert, and Benjamin; Daughters: Maria Elena ‘Lena’, Jennifer, Veronica, Sheryl, and Yvonne. Along with 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Raymond ‘Ray’ Maciel, daughters Katharine and Laura Elaine, son Ramon, and brothers Pete and John.The Rosary for Maria is to be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.The service will be held the following day on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 1:30 pm at St. Joseph’s Church in Richardson, Texas immediately followed by the escorted procession to the Garden of Devotion at Restland Cemetery.
