Maria Elena Quinones' Obituary
On August 31, Maria Elena Quinones, peacefully passed while surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 78 in Dallas, Texas after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
Maria is survived by her husband Daniel Quinones; their children, Juan Daniel Quinones, Gricelda Quinones, Marco Antonio Quinones, & Anastacia Quinones-Pittman.
Maria was born on April 28th in Bustamante, Nuevo LeĂłn. She and Daniel met while at a dance, in which her parents had forbid her to attend. They danced the night away and fell madly in love. They were married in 1966. Some of her favorite hobbies were cooking for her family and gardening. She was a child at heart and adored spending time with her grandchildren as well as decorating for the holidays. She had an incredible work ethic that made her a pillar of the community, devoting much of her time to serving others while also juggling a full household of responsibilities. She was a practical joker with a generous heart of gold, always speaking her mind and never mincing words. Ever determined to see her family succeed, she taught her children to never give up and demand the respect they all deserved.
Everyone who knew Maria felt her big heart and giving nature. She will be greatly missed, especially by her grandchildren, with whom she spent countless hours cooking in the kitchen, swinging, chasing, and of course, playing hide & seek.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to a charity of your choice or perform a random act of kindness for someone in need. As per Maria’s request, no funeral will be held. There will be a private ceremony with close family members present, at a later date in her hometown of Bustamante, NL.
Funeral arrangements for Ms. Maria Quinones have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
