I have been honored to have been aquainted with Maria Reyna for many years and have seen what a great woman she was. God has surely blessed this great woman with courage,strength and faith. I was proud to have known Maria since I was a young lad growing up in West Texas in the small and dusty city of Cottoncenter. Honored to have grown up with her children and share many childhood memories together. God made only a handful of strong, courageous and sacrificial women in this world and Maria was one of them. My hats off to this great woman and all she represented and stood for along the years. She has met her Maker and I know has been reacquainted with my dad – the late Thomas Santos Garcia Pesina. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints (Psalms 116:15 )." I love you Maria and all the family. Please say hello to my "Papi." To all the Family of Maria Reyna, Hnos. Reyna were dear friends to my grandparents in Crystal City, Texas in the late 1950's – early 1960's. Hnos. Reyna lived in Carrizo Springs. I met the Reyna family in the mid/late 1970's at New Life Baptist Church, Garland, as a young girl. What joy I received when I heard the family sing in church. Thank you for your precious testimony. I will carry it in my heart forever. Your mother, Maria Reyna, was a joy to talk to. Her counsel was humble and wise. She always gave glory to God and in her quiet manner always gave testimony of God's Greatness. I can remember on several occasions my mother looking for Hna. Reyna to pray with her. Mom valued Hna. Reyna's wisdom and wise counsel. Your mother was a 'Special' lady. Thank you for sharing her with all of us. 'Listen to wise counsel' and 'trust in the Lord!' Proverbs 22:17-19 Your father, Hno. Cruz Reyna, was a great man of God and I was privileged to know him. I remember his music, his wise Godly counsel and mostly his dedication for the Lord's work. I remember my Dad on several occasions visiting with Hno.Reyna. Dad too went to Hno. Reyna for prayer and counsel. How sweet it was to see Maria's children and grandchildren together 'Celebrating' because their mother has gone to meet her Lord. Thank you for that testimony. Hermana Reyna was a special friend to me and my family growing up in West Texas. I am saddened for the family that will miss her but I rejoice in the fact that she knew our Lord intimately and will be part of his heavenly kingdom. I am leaving Sunday morning to take my daugther to Midwestern University. I will not be here to pay my respects and condolences.
