Marian S. Frank's Obituary
FRANK, MARIAN S., 83, passed away Wednesday, January 30th, 2013 in Plano, Texas. She was born June 20th, 1929 in Clarksville, Texas to George and Margaret Sunkel. Marian earned a bachelors degree from the University of Texas and was married to Joseph L. Frank on January 30th, 1950. She was a beloved wife to him for 58 years until his death in 2008. Marian was also a devoted mother to three sons, Joseph L. Frank Jr., David G. Frank and James C. Frank and a wonderful mother-in-law to their wives, Rebecca, Edith and Marilyn. She was a cherished grandmother to Jessica Karlinski, Jeffrey Frank, Jennifer Umana, Christopher Frank and Lauren Frank, and great grandmother to Abigail and Jacob Karlinski. Marian was a member of St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and held every office in the Presbyterian Women’s Association. She touched so many other lives with her caring and generous spirit, her warm and fun loving personality and her extensive work for charity. In addition to being an officer in the George Sunkel Foundation, she served many years as an interviewer and coordinator for the Network of Community Ministries in Richardson and received a prestigious 10,000 hour award several years before she retired in 2012. A Graveside Service will be held at Restland Memorial Park at 2:30 PM on Monday, February 4th, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:30 PM at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, 1220 W. Belt Line Road in Richardson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Austin Street Shelter, 2929 Hickory Street, Dallas, TX 75226 or the charity of your choice.
