Mrs. Mariana Ofelia Meneses' Obituary
On January 24th, 2023, Mariana Ofelia Meneses passed away in Dallas, Texas at age 87. Mariana was born in the Port of Spain Trinidad and Tobago on March 9th, 1935, to Carmen J. Fernandez.
On August 16th, 1967, Mariana was wed to Felix R. Meneses. They have three children, Felix, Aurora, and Mariana all born in Venezuela. In 1980, Mariana and Felix moved their family to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to begin their life in the United States. Shortly after, they settled down in Richardson, Texas. Mariana earned her associates degree while raising her family and working a full-time job.
Mariana valued spending time with her family and always ended the night dancing to steel band music. Mariana enjoyed making purses and dresses for her granddaughters as well as cooking with her grandsons. She loved creating flower arrangements and did this professionally for a period of her life. Her family and friends will always remember her as being loving and kind.
Mariana is survived by her husband Felix R. Meneses, her son Felix J. Meneses of Dallas (Lilly), her two daughters Aurora McKinney of Frisco (Brent) and Mariana Perez of Mesquite (José Angel). She is also survived by her niece Iris Mancilla-Gabriel (Dan) of Ennis. Mariana has 8 grandchildren, Kyle McKinney, Taylor McKinney, Monique Meneses, Daniel Meneses, Maria Gabriela Perez, Diasmar Perez, Ian Perez and Joseph Perez who all miss her dearly.
Mariana’s family and friends will keep her memory alive forever in their hearts.
Mariana’s life will be celebrated with a private service for family and friends.
