Marianne Davis Schlossstein's Obituary
It is with deep love and admiration that we announce the passing of Marianne Davis Schlossstein, a woman of unwavering independence, quiet strength, and an unshakable love for the Texas Longhorns. Born on September 7, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, to Allen Leon Davis and Mary Elizabeth Edwin, Marianne embodied the heart and grit of a true Texan.
A fiercely loyal University of Texas fan, Marianne’s dedication to her Longhorns was legendary—interrupting her during a game was a risk few dared to take. That same loyalty and passion were evident in every aspect of her life, particularly in her career. She dedicated over two decades to Baylor Scott & White Health, where she was not only respected but truly cherished by colleagues and friends.
She is survived by her stepchildren, Kimberly and Wade, beloved granddaughters and grandsons, and her fiercely loyal cat, Bear, who undoubtedly ruled the household.
Marianne had a sharp wit, a generous heart, and an unspoken ability to make those around her feel at ease. She never sought attention, but she certainly earned it, leaving behind a legacy of strength, humor, and wisdom. In true Marianne fashion, she would likely roll her eyes at any fuss being made over her—but we celebrate her life nonetheless, grateful for the time we shared with her.
In honor of her wishes, a private service will be held.
