Marie Ann Currey's Obituary
Marie Ann Seibert Currey died September 21, 2016 in Grand Saline, TX. She was born October 4, 1920, to Lydia (Schmidt) and William G. Seibert in Rockdale, Texas. She graduated from Rockdale High School in 1937 as class valedictorian. She attended business college in Austin. On January 16, 1939, she married her high school sweetheart Alvin B. Currey. Before World War II they moved to the Dallas area and when the war began she worked in the Personnel Departments of Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego, California, and Southern Aircraft, Garland, Texas. Their daughter, Lana was born in Dallas and she became a housewife. During this time she worked as office manager in her husband’s small business and was a Girl Scout leader for 10 years. She was a long time member of Casa Linda Presbyterian Church. In the seventies they moved to Cedar Creek Lake and she became a member of the Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church. After her husband died, she returned to Dallas and was a member of Colonial Presbyterian and Northridge Presbyterian Churches. She loved her family, enjoyed Big Band music, and was active in her churches. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, along with brothers William Seibert of Keller and John Henry Seibert of Portland. Survivors include daughter Lana Freeman and her husband Mike, grandsons Chris Freeman, Todd Freeman and wife Jana, granddaughter Susan Burnett, and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by a niece and several nephews. Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Heart Association.
