Marie C. Tatum's Obituary
TATUM, MARIE C. age 94, of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully at her home at Autumn Leaves on July 13, 2013. She was born in Austin, Texas on October 11, 1918 to Alvin Blaine Cluck and Nellie Prewitt Cluck. On October 21, 1941, she married J.C. Tatum in Austin, Texas. They lived in Corpus Christi, Texas during her husband’s military service in World War II. After the war, they lived in Dallas, Texas and Pecos, Texas where Mr. Tatum owned businesses. Marie worked as a secretary and office manager in her husband’s business in Pecos and, after her husband’s death, she returned to Dallas, where she worked until her retirement. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Donald Cluck of Fort Worth, and her sisters, Evelyn Caldwell and Pauline Franklin, both of Dallas. Marie is survived by her two sons, Alan Tatum of Bloomington, Illinois and Mark Tatum of Frankston, Texas; her three grandchildren, Alec Tatum of Frankston, Texas, Lydia Balderas of Andover, Kansas, and Kyle Tatum of College Station, Texas and four great-grandchildren, Jacob Tatum, Madalyn Tatum, Camila Marie Balderas and Alex Miguel Balderas. Marie was a caring mother and a doting grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. No funeral service will be held. The family will have a private memorial service.
