Marifrances Bolin's Obituary
Marifrances Bolin, affectionately known as MaMa, Nanny, Granny, and Ms. Dawson, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Balch Springs, Texas at the age of 90 years old.
Born to Gertiemae Mildred Fuller Parker, Cleo Cross, and her stepfather Ernest Parker, Marifrances lived a rich and fulfilling life. Marifrances married Robert D. Bolin and had two daughters, Mary Lou and Martha Sue. Later Marifrances married LeeRoy Dawson and together they had one daughter Teresa Charlene. Later in life, she married James K. Bolin and unfortunately became a widow after his passing. Marifrances also embraced her role as a stepmother to five children: Reuben Garcia, Eddie Dawson, Donny Dawson, Billy Bolin, and Kathy Cash.
Marifrances found passion in the ivory keys of the piano. Whether at church, home, or any event, her fingers danced across the notes, weaving melodies that touched hearts and brought comfort to those who listened. She also enjoyed traveling and surely loved to watch her game shows and General Hospital. Marifrances also love dressing up as well as doing make-up. She was a true cheerleader when it came to sporting events. She surely made sure you knew you were supported! Marifrances also had a love for cooking. Most importantly she loved to cook for her family and made the best sweet tea in the world.
Marifrances leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her Daughters Mary Lou and Don Smith, Martha Sue and Jimmy Haley, and Teresa Charlene Garcia and Terry Vance. She is also survived by Reuben Garcia, Eddie and Susan Dawson, Donny Dawson, Billy and Marsha Bolin, and Kathy Cash. Marifrances also leaves a host of Grandchildren who adored her. Among them are Lil Frank and Marilyn Sizemore, Christopher (Fifer) and Katherine Sizemore, Jason Gipson, Misty and Robert Marinik, and Rachel and Tammie Johnson. She also is survived and will be greatly missed by her great-grandchildren: Gloria Mari Garcia, Dominique and Christian Pryor, Alex Ortiz also known as (Nanny’s Boy), Jessica Gayle Sizemore, Christopher (Chris Jr.) and Holly Sizemore, and Anthony (JR) and Marissa Johnson.
Marifrances also leaves behind her great-great-grandchildren: Raylee Crawford, Easton Crawford, Maya Pryor, Aurora Johnson, Oaklee Sizemore, and Ranger Carrington.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Gertiemae Mildred Fuller Parker, her father, Cleo Cross, and her stepfather, Ernest Parker.
Marifrances Bolin’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her loving family and those who knew and loved her. Her warmth, wisdom, and love touched countless lives, and her memory will forever be remembered.
