Marilyn Estelle Lang Clarke, age 92, passed away on February 21, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on June 4, 1931, to Harold E. and Estelle Sorrells Lang in Dallas, Texas, Marilyn lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication.
Marilyn was a woman of many talents and roles. She was a skilled interior decorator, bringing beauty and style into the lives of those she served. Additionally, Marilyn served as a secretary for AWECO Oil, where her professionalism and dedication left a lasting impression on her colleagues.
Faith was central to Marilyn's life, guiding her actions and relationships. She was a devoted follower of God, finding solace and strength in her spiritual journey.
Marilyn was not only dedicated to her career but also to her community. She was a passionate supporter and volunteer for The Dallas Ballet and Opera Guild, contributing her time and talents to enriching the cultural life of her city.
Throughout her life, Marilyn was a devoted wife, having shared her love with her husbands, Bob Harris, Bill Hargis, and Tom Clarke. She cherished her role as a mother to her daughters, Robin Wood Adams and Priscilla Dykes Lee. Marilyn's love and guidance were a source of inspiration to her family, shaping their lives in profound ways.
Marilyn had a special bond with her son-in-law, Carl Adams, whom she loved dearly and who brought joy and companionship into her life.
In her leisure time, Marilyn enjoyed indulging in self-care with spa days, shopping excursions, and, of course, never missing the chance to savor her favorite treat of ice cream. She also found joy in playing bridge and dominoes, delighting in the company of friends and family.
Marilyn's greatest joy was found in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She adored her grandchildren: Charles Wood Jr., Selena Wilson, Kelsey Lynn Richardson, Kerry Dykes, Kelly Dykes, Matt Lee, Amanda Lee, Ricky Lee, Anna Lee, Christy Doss, and her great-grandchildren: Kailey Richardson, Liam Wilson, Steven Mason Richardson, Gavin Wilson, Cael Wilson, Piper Thompson, Zachary Doss, Autumn Doss, and numerous others.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched.
