Marilyn Joy Sorley's Obituary
Born March 29, 1927 in Dallas, TX; passed away February 20, 2009 in Dallas, TX. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Reverend Doctor Clem G. Sorley; daughter, Sharon Parmer and husband Jimmy of Littlefield, TX; son, Gordon Sorley of Houston, TX; daughter, Debra King and husband David of Welsh, LA; sister, Betty Ferrell of Omaha, TX; grandchildren, Stephanie Vaught, Garrett Heard, Chris Sorley, Brent Broussard and Jana Broussard; as well as 5 great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of North Dallas High School and attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. She served as church secretary at her home church of Greenville Avenue Christian Church and was a member of First Presbyterian church in Dallas, TX. Singing in choirs was one of her great loves. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 am, Monday, February 23, 2009 in Restland’s Abbey Chapel.
