Marilyn Sullivan's Obituary
Marilyn Cooke Sullivan was born January 20, 1923 in Evanston, IL and passed away October 16, 2011 in Durant, OK. She was the daughter of Helen Gwendolyn Davies and Raymond Cooke. Marilyn attended the University of Iowa, and graduated from University of Oklahoma in 1944. She served in the US Army at Love Field, Dallas, TX during WWII from 1944-1946. Member of Gamma Phi Beta since 1939, member of Social Order of the Beauceant since 1956, served as Recorder for 21 years of the Dallas Assembly, served as an Officer of the Supreme Assembly of Beauceant, and member of White Rock United Methodist Church since 2000. Marilyn “Cookie” was known for her culinary talents, wit, and generosity. Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur R. Sullivan; sister, Catherine Brown; and nephew, Geoff Brown. Survived by son, Arthur R. Sullivan, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Sharon M. Sullivan; grandchildren, Kelly Ann Chaffin, Michael Chaffin, Dale Michael Sullivan, Ryan David Sullivan, Tess Marie Taglialatela, and Sean Taglialatela; great-grandchildren, Emily Marie Chaffin, Cleoan Elizabeth Chaffin; and niece, Marilyn Cantaloupe. Service 10am, Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
