Marion Watson Washington's Obituary
Born on December 18th, 1928, in Marietta, Texas, Marion Watson lived a life deeply rooted in her faith and love for God. On February 25th, 2025, she peacefully entered eternal rest in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 96.
Marion's unwavering devotion to the Lord was evident in her active involvement at the First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park, where she faithfully served as the church secretary for 15 years. Her commitment to her church community was a true reflection of her servant's heart and steadfast faith.
On July 29th, 1944, Marion married her beloved husband, Morlen Washington, with whom she shared a blessed union grounded in Christian love and values. Together, they nurtured a family of three boys, Edmund, Charles, and Eris, that cherished the teachings of Christ and embraced the joy of fellowship.
Marion was known for her humor and compassion, traits that shone brightly in her interactions with family and friends. She delighted in cooking and sharing meals and delighted in assisting in the kitchen at her church. Everyone knows though that her favorite cuisine was Mexican with all the trimmings, paired with a good margarita! Her impeccable style as a distinguished dresser mirrored the grace and dignity with which she lived her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morlen Washington; her parents, Roy and Sylverine Watson; her son, Edmund Washington; her brothers Streetman Watson, Henry Watson, McErvin Watson, William Watson; and her sisters LaVerne Warren and Tiny Mae Watson.
Marion is lovingly remembered by her sons, Charles Washington (spouse Glenda) and Eris Washington (spouse Pam); her grandchildren, Tiffany Washington, Tya Washington, Eris Washington, Alon Del (spouse Anthony), Jamar Washington, and Ashley Washington; her daughter-in-law Carolyn Washington (spouse of Edmund Washington); and a host of extended family and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Marion's legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace in the glorious presence of the Lord.
