Marjorie Ruth Burrows' Obituary
Marjorie Ruth Frey Burrows went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 17, 2021. She was 96 years old. Ruth was born on September 22, 1925 in Birmingham, Kentucky to Rev. Charles Otto and Jeffie Davis Croom Frey. After graduating from a school of business, she began her career as a bookkeeper. She continued to work in banking for many years. While working in Memphis, Tennessee, Ruth met Wilton Chester Burrows to whom she was married for over 76 years. She is survived by her dedicated and loving children, Norma (Glen) Hatcher, Jerry (Deborah) Burrows, Brenda (Louis) McAnally, David (Karen) Burrows and Don Burrows, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a member of Casa Linda United Methodist church where she was very active for many years. Ruth reflected Christ to all she encountered. The fruit of the Spirit love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control were ALL on display in her life.
Ruth valued her family greatly and spent much effort to keep family relationships healthy. When asked how she was able to keep our family so closely knit together, she answered, “I worked at it.” Family could always count on Ruth to have a listening ear.. Whether it was Christmas morning, a high school baseball game, or a fish fry, the best days of the year for Ruth were family gatherings. Though all of us have different views on life, Ruth was quick to accept us for whom we are. She made each of us feel that we were special to her. Whether you called her Ruth, Mom, Grandmother, Grandmommy, or Great-grandmother, you knew you were loved by her. We will always cherish our memories of her.
Family will receive friends on Sunday January 2, 2022 from 3:30-5:30 at Restland Funeral Home.
A celebration of her life will be held at Restland, Wildwood Chapel on Monday January 3, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park. To view Live-stream click on link: http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/northstar/65842/hash:23BE476F72368117
