Marjorie Lorene Gardner's Obituary
Gardner, Marjorie L. 83, went home to the Lord Jesus on June 19th, 2009 after a long fight with cancer. Born February 7th, 1926 to Henry and Matilda Hochstatter of Wyanet, Illinois. She graduated nursing school at St. Francis of Peoria Illinois in 1947. Marjorie’s career in nursing started with the Red Cross treating Polio patients and ended caring for AIDS patients. She had a true nurses soul always caring and comforting everyone in her path. The world was a better place with her in it and she will be sorely missed. She is survived by two sisters, Anna Mae Peterson, 86 of Wyanet, Illinois and Pearl Courter, 90, of Sheffield, Illinois; three children, Steven Gardner, Dallas, Sandra Kempf (Bob) of Ft. Collins, Co., and Stanton Gardner (Myste) of McKinney; six grandchildren, Brandon Gardner, Chad Gardner, Evan Gardner, Fisher Gardner, Kayla Kempf, Becky Kempf; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother, special aunt, very very special grandmother, and a true friend. May God Bless her and keep her. Visitation from 6 to 8PM Friday June 26th, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 12:30PM Saturday June 27th, 2009 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
