Marjorie Ray Johnson's Obituary
Marjorie Ray Johnson, 92 of Garland, Texas passed peacefully August 20, 2017 in Garland, Texas. She was born September 22, 1924, to Franklin Arthur Ray and Pearl Gentry Ray in Huckaby, Texas. Marjorie graduated Benjamin High School in Benjamin, TX. She married Carl J. Johnson on December 16, 1948 in Abilene, Texas and graduated Hardin Simmons degree in nursing. Marjorie was a cadet nurse, Registered Nurse (RN), in WWII. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Garland. She retired from nursing from Garland Memorial Hospital as head nurse in day surgery. One of her proudest moments was when she was 8 yrs old and she gave her life to Christ, and continued being devoted throughout her life. Marjorie touched so many lives, and lived as a strong woman, role model, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Carl J. Johnson of Garland, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Randy Majors; son, David T. Johnson of Garland, Texasand her sister, Bess Wright of Stephenville, Texas; 4 grandchildren: Holly (Shane) Hammons of Hebron, Kentucky, Jennifer Alaniz, Christopher Parker and Brian Johson of Garland, Texas; 4 great-grandchildren: Jordon Hall, Jenna Alaniz of Garland, Landry and Nolan Hammons of Hebron, Texas; many friends. She was a loving wife and mother, grandmother, role model, and a strong woman. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Emmett Ray, Roswell, New Mexico, Anson Ray, Amarillo, Texas, Olen Ray of Amarillo, Texas and Stanley Ray, Wichita Falls, Texas.
