Marjorie May Lashlee's Obituary
Marjorie May Lashlee, 95, passed away in the hospital on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, with family by her side. She was born in Union, South Carolina on August 26, 1927 to Walter and May Cryer who were originally from Liverpool, England. Her Family moved from South Carolina to Dallas when Marjorie was a youngster. She was a proud graduate of Highland Park High School and attended TWU. Marjorie married Bill Lashlee in July, 1947 and they were married for 56 years before Bill's death in June 2003. They Made their first home in Fort Worth and ultimately retired in Rockwall, Texas. Marjorie was a proud homemaker her entire life and most proud of her family and loved spending time with them whenever possible. She always said that her greatest accomplishment was having her three children. In Her early years, she adored dancing and was known to be the life of the party. She loved to laugh and reminisce about earlier times in her life and those fond memories she held most dear. She had a passion for reading and enjoyed traveling especially going to the ocean. She was an animal lover and primarily had dogs throughout her life.
She is survived by her three children: son, Stephen Lashlee and his wife Cheryl; daughter Stephanie Dancer and her husband Keith and daughter, Melanie Lashlee and her partner Kate. She had three grandchildren; Heather Lashlee Church, Amanda Nobra and Ashley Dancer Sperry and her husband Dr. Thomas Sperry. Marjorie also had four great grandchildren: Savannah Church, Caroline Nobra, Mason Palmer and Genevieve Sperry as well as other beloved extended family members. Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lashlee, her parents and sister, Thelma Blake. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Restland Cemetery.
