Marjorie Weiser Witherspoon's Obituary
WITHERSPOON, MARJORIE W. 84, of Irving, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007, succumbing to a long battle with cancer. Marjorie, lovingly known by her family as ‘GG’, was born on September 24, 1922 and raised in Houston. After spending childhood family vacations in Estes Park, Colorado, Marge developed her love of the Rocky Mountains and went on to graduate college from the University of Colorado. Marge met her future husband, H. T. ‘Boots’ Witherspoon, while growing up in Houston. They were married in 1945 and raised three children in Dallas. Marge was a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was everything to her, but she was a friend to so many. She will be dearly missed by all. The family wishes to thank Odyssey Healthcare and all the hospice workers for their kind and special care given to ‘GG’. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years. She is survived by her son, John Witherspoon and wife, Carol, of Orlando, FL; daughters, Harriet Myers, of Irving, TX; Jean Flynn and husband, Larry, of Southlake, TX; sister, Dorothy Seale of Boulder, CO; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 2 nephews.
