Mark Walter Anderson's Obituary
Mark Walter Anderson, 48, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on February 7, 2025.
Born on January 29, 1977, in Newport Beach, California, Mark’s infectious smile, laugh, and sense of humor were cherished by everyone who knew him. He was a person who loved deeply and was equally loved in return.
As a child who often patrolled his neighborhood on his bicycle to look after his siblings, Mark was fascinated by Mercedes hood ornaments. Never neglecting his role as protector, Mark managed to resist the temptation to remove hood ornaments from neighborhood cars.
A 1995 graduate of Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, and a 2013 graduate of Pulaski Technical College Culinary Institute in Little Rock, Arkansas, Mark was a talented pastry chef. He took great joy in preparing extravagant meals and desserts for his loved ones to enjoy. Although Mark had a fear of heights, he overcame it to find his true calling as a flight attendant, using his warm, never-met-a-stranger personality to serve travelers nationwide.
A lover of all things vintage and fabulous—whether it was stand mixers, lava lamps, fur coats, or airline memorabilia—Mark’s zest for life never dimmed. Mark enjoyed traveling, dancing, discovering hole-in-the-wall restaurants, staying in fine hotels, sleeping late, and much to the dismay of his family, cranking the air conditioning down to 65 degrees. He will be remembered for his sky-blue eyes, his infectious laugh, and kindness to all.
Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Becker Anderson, whom he always remembered fondly and loved dearly. He is survived by his husband, Dennis Lasiter, of Dallas, Texas, with whom he shared 21 loving years; his father, Walter Anderson, of Scottsdale, Arizona; his sisters, Shanna Gallucci, of Laguna Niguel, California, and Christina Baca, of Phoenix, Arizona; and his brother, Matt Anderson, of Phoenix, Arizona. We love you, Marky Mark.
A memorial service for family and friends will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, many of Mark's friends and family have expressed a desire to contribute to his funeral expenses.
